Jeff Rawlings

Partner

Jeff grew up in Jackson, Mississippi and earned his law degree in 1984 from Ole Miss where he was a member of the Law Journal. While working for another firm in downtown Jackson, Jeff and Mike struck out on their own and founded their firm in 1990. Jeff is a past president of the Mississippi Bankruptcy Conference and the Madison Center for the Arts and has been a speaker at countless seminars.  Jeff has had an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 2003. He’s admitted to all Federal and State Courts in Mississippi and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. 

Since 1984, Jeff’s practice has focused on creditor rights, the representation of lenders, commercial closings of all sizes and types all over the country, litigation of all types, business defense, resolution of business disputes, contracts and employer law. He’s done it all, from debtor lead counsel in the first casino bankruptcies in Mississippi in 1994 to lead counsel for lenders in some of the largest fraud schemes in Mississippi history. He has the vast expertise that only 40 years of law practice can give you.

Mike MacInnis

Partner

Mike was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and graduated from Pascagoula High School. Mike received his B.B.A. in Banking and Finance, cum laude, in 1982 from the University of Mississippi and earned his law degree in 1985 from Emory University School of Law, Atlanta, Georgia. Mike practiced law in Atlanta for nearly three years before moving to Jackson to be closer to family. In Jackson, Mike practiced at a large law firm where he met Jeff with whom he would later found their new law firm in 1990. Mike is a Board member of the Madison Organization of Neighborhood Associations (MONA), General Counsel to the Board of Trustees for Madison County Nursing Home, prior General Counsel to Mississippi Psychological Association, counsel to dozens of neighborhood and Homeowners’ Association Boards, a past president of the Madison-Ridgeland Youth Club, a prior Board member of the Jackson Young Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice before all Federal and State Courts in Mississippi and is a Member of the State Bar of Georgia (inactive).

Since 1985, Mike’s practice has included extensive experience in several areas including complex and small commercial finance and real estate closings; commercial and consumer collections for large and small businesses, state, regional and national banks and credit corporations; business and commercial transactions including contract and lease negotiations and preparation; advising businesses and boards of directors for large and small organizations; advising and represent psychologists and related health-care professionals in collections, regulatory compliance, ethical complaints and compliance and litigation; representation of dozens of Home Owners’ Associations throughout the Jackson metro area; real estate transfers; and, commercial and general litigation.

Jon Mims

Associate

Jon Mims is an associate with 18 years of experience with the firm handling real property and tax sale issues, creditor's rights, wills and estates, federal and state appellate work, and homeowner association matters.  


Jon earned his law degree in 2001 at the Mississippi College School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts English degree in 1997 at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.  Prior to joining Rawlings & MacInnis, P.A., he served as a judicial clerk drafting legal opinions for the Mississippi Supreme Court.  He is admitted to practice in all Federal and State Courts in Mississippi.  Raised in a small town in Edgefield, South Carolina, Jon is committed to providing passionate and value-based legal services. 


Jon spends his time outside the office with his wife Michelle who he met in law school, his two girls and son, and dog and cat. He enjoys watching his son play baseball and his girls compete in various sports and school activities. He can be reached at jon@rawlingsmacinnis.net

Alec Rawlings

Associate

Alec joined Rawlings & MacInnis, P.A. as an Associate in September 2019. In 2016, Alec graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in Managerial Finance and Banking & Finance. He then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law where he received the American Jurisprudence award for Constitutional Law and passed the Bar Exam in 2019. 


Alec is a Member of the Mississippi Bar Association, American Bar Association (Young Lawyers Division), Jackson Young Lawyers, Capital Area Bar Association, Business Law Section, Real Property Section, and Estates and Trusts Section. Alec practices in the areas of Wills and Trusts, Probate, Real Estate, Business Formation and Disputes, and Contract Drafting and Review.
